Tarini is a quantum chemist who is passionate about developing scientific software to solve unique challenges and improve scientific understanding. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, developing new methodologies for excited state-specific quantum chemistry, with her advisor, Dr. Eric Neuscamman. Previously, she worked as a researcher at Dartmouth College, with Dr. James Whitfield, testing various fermion-to-qubit mappings. As an undergraduate at Colby College, she studied chemistry and mathematics, and developed an early interest in quantum computing.
She is also committed to building more inclusive research communities and improving scientific outreach, and has led numerous initiatives through college and graduate school to help these efforts. She has volunteered with Bay Area Scientists in Schools and mentored several students throughout her career.
